I know nothing about the XP beta 2, but I have access to it and was wondering if anyone knows how it compares to the retail version. Also, how does the registration/copyright thing work with beta 2 (I have two computer I would want to put it on at home, but don't want to mess up anything). Does it expire or anything? Any info would be great- thanks.

All beta versions of windows expire. It was true even for Windows 95 and it is true for WinXP beta2 also. But I don't know when. Ususally its 6 months since the release of the beta.

Regarding the differences, yes there are compatibily differences. Like Need For Speed 5, redline Racer, 4x4 evo would simply not work in the beta but are working in the final version of XP. There aren't any performance or stability differences that I could make out from the last beta released ny MS and their final version. But I advise to use the full version as newer software would be programmed to work only in the full version of XP.

There are no differences in the activation procedures too.
