Is there a big difference between 16 and 32 mb on a video card?

To my knowledge, if you run no higher then 800x600, you wont benefit from the 32mb on a Video card. But, if you run higher than 1024, you will definitely benefit from the 32mb video memory

Also with only 16mbs on a video card, you cnat really run under 32bit color.

I;m doing some OpenGL programming and the difference is absolutly amazing. When blending in 16bbp you can see banding and some dithering side-effects. The image looks like crap. The same blend functions produce absolutly perfect 32bbp results.

Yeah, I would definetly recommend the 32meg one. 16megs on a video card is very limited today, there are so many textures in games now, and they are getting more hi-res all the time, so a 16meg card would be having trouble with displaying them all and would have to resort to the AGP bus (or maby PCI in some cases) to display them. That usually kills the speed pretty much.

I'd say two thumbs down for the 16meg and two up of the 32meg.
