I am looking for a 4gb black nano (I don't care if you don't like it or not) -- Just wondering before I press submit on the apple store, is there a better place to order it so I don't have to pay tax? What other stores are carrying it?

I'm using MacMall.com. Came out to $259.99 for the 4GB, with the engraving, and next day shipping (getting it as a gift for someone). LIttle cheaper than apple as they charge tax, and I get next day shipping.

I dunno, i thought apple was the best deal if you can get the student or other discout, cuz it pretty much takes out tax. And you get the engraving, which some care none about.

I think the best right now will be rougly 10% off.

I know Target and Circuit City both had a 10% dealio but I think they are both over. Everywhere will charge tax unless you get it from buy.com or amazon.com but even then I'm not 100% sure.

LOL, I'm also about to click the submit button from the applestore. I'm using their educational discount which is $20 off (not quite 10% but close enough), add tax and it comes out to $247.XX shipped. They also offer free engraving.

I am going to just buy from apple store b/c they ship really fast when they have it in stock (not sure if they currently have it instock) and you can't really get any better deals w/ the same amount of hassle (or lack thereof). I know you can do the dealpass GCs and get about 20% off. But again, it's a lot more hassle and waiting.

Actually those 10% off coupons specifically state not valid on Apple products, so a big YMMV on that one.

The referral takes off $20 and is good for all first time buyers. Sucks that they have no ETA on it though im just gonna wait it out. My fiancee already has one, so i just borrow hers in the meantime.

For me, the difference was pretty big...

Apple - $265
Crutchfield - $223
