Is there a best time to buy a new desktop? I was thinking boxing day?

Boxing Day is not a bad idea. Another decent option is after 1 Jan when we enter the gloom period and shopping comes to a real slowdown.

If you missed out on the Black Friday deals...(do they have those in Canada?) then you may not get a great price on a desktop until after Christmas.
Are you looking for components to build your own, or are you looking for a pre-built?
