Might check this one out as an (I think) less expensive alternative. I've had one of these in my living room for a month, and we're very happy with it, but most people seem to be buying it as a large gaming monitor. The image quality is superb. Cons are that the speakers suck (mine arrived detached and remain in that condition), and the display is perhaps too bright. Fortunately there is a lamp-level adjustment and you can get it dialed in very nicely.

This?

The resolution rocks (3840x2400, that's 4 Dell 2405FPW's), but response time is teh suxxor. 50ms .

It depends on what your priorities are. If you want fast response time, the 30" isn't exactly going to cut it. You might even have to go down to 20" to get it - but then you're sacrificing resolution.

I don't know... that Sceptre I posted is an 8ms 37" panel.

Thank you.

Often I wonder how it is possible for people who make mistakes at the elementary school level have jobs that afford them the opportunity to purchase $2000+ monitors. I know this is offensive, but I really wonder sometimes.

by look at your rig, you look like you're gamer

but using a monitor such as the 3007, your framerates would dip drastically (especially minimum framerates)

your gtx sli isn't gonna cut it at the native resolution

Do you think the next generation of video cards will handle it, like the G80?

it's really tough to say since we don't know anything about the upcoming products

but judging from the past next gen products, they usually doubles the performance of the current flagship cards
