Is the Xbox version of Vice City blurry for anyone else?

My brother was over playing Vice City on Xbox last night and made a comment on how blurry the game seemed. I haven't really played it much so I sat down and watched him for a bit. The game was so blurry it gave me a headache after a while.

The car headlights/tail lights would just streak as you passed them. Even in a movie when you've got shots of two guys walking around and talking you could see a blur of their body when the camera moved.

Is this normal? Anyone else notice it?

There's a little bit of "motion blur" in the game itself, IIRC, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that your cabling just sucks. What are you using to connect XB to TV?

Xbox HD Pack (Component cables) to Yamaha reciever to RCA 42" HDTV

and WhyTF would there be an option to blur the game? What would be the point of that?

Component all the way through. Hrm. I assume you enabled progressive scan in the Xbox dashboard.

Motion blur, dude. It happens in real life, they wanted it in the game. :p

Dunno, it's my roommate's setup and he's a huge home theater nut, so I would assume so.

And why would they want blur through the whole game? I mean it even blurs when they have a cut scene of 2 people talking!

Yes there is an option to turn it off. I don't remember what it is called, but look in you video settings.

I know in the PC version of the first GTA3 game, that option (motion blur) was enabled by default. I thought I was going to have to give up playing the game, until I discovered you can turn that crap off.

Don't know about the Xbox version, though.

They put that option there cos the PS2 is so slow, it couldn't render everything quickly enough, so they used "motion blur", like the way films work, to make it look like it had a higher framerate.
