Is the X1950XTX the best single gpu card on the market today or what?

How big or small of an upgrade of this beast over my existing 7900gtx?

Pretty small, but it's also not much more expensive (assuming you were planning to ebay off your 7900).

Supposedly the 8800GTX and GT are coming in November from NVidia, and these are DX10 parts, so you would probably be wise to wait and see.

Yes. The best single card of course is still the 7950GX2. But for a single GPU the X1950XTX is the top dog.
