Is the Wii shortage over?

there might have never ever been a real shortage, if you take into account the artificially inflated demand (ebayers).

I picked one up this morning at the Northridge, CA Circuit City. I got there around 8:45 a.m. There was a note on the door saying there were only 6, although the add said there would be 15. They handed out vouchers at 9 a.m. I was the only one there. I had some time to kill so I swung by the local Best Buy, which is about 1 mile away - there was a line of 25 or 30 people, who I presume were there for the Wii (no other reason to wait in line afaik). I came back to the CC at 10 a.m. to pick mine up and did not see any line for them.

Amazon had a pile of Wiis earlier today. My Wiialert went off 3 or 4 times. I keep it going for friends who might want a Wii, already got one by waiting in line outside a Best Buy.

They're still pretty rare, but Sears.com is selling some online right now

So yeah, shipments come in but seem to sell out pretty quickly. The 3rd party markup business seems to still be running strong on ebay and craigslist, too. That much should tell you that there are still shortages.

Yeah, I was getting Wii Alert messages all weekend long. I need to turn that off since I'm not actively looking for a Wii anymore.

I was in a Target yesterday just after noon and saw Wiis sitting in a display case for the first time ever.

Last time I saw a Wii instores was late October @ Gamestop, they had 2 of them and I grabbed them both. I go to Wal-Mart, Target, BB, Meijer, etc. pretty regularly to get stuff (non-video game stuff) and I'm yet to see one since I bought my two.

Some Target stores in the Denver area got a slew of them yesterday (at least the 2 stores I went to). It was actually the first time I'd ever seen them in stock for any retailer (online or B&M). So I promptly snatched one up. The guys at the stores told me they each got in about 60 yesterday morning. By 11:30am one store had only 2 left, the other had ~20 left at 7:00pm. I'm sure they'll all be gone today. Right place, right time for me.

MarioKart Wii was released yesterday right? (I grabbed that too). And Wii Fit is coming in May. Maybe that's why they had a stock surge.

well, they were hoarding until SSBB came out, so no doubt they did the same for mario kart to an extent. I don't know if they'll do the same for wii fit though.

Went to pickup MK Wii from Target yesterday, no Wii in the display case.

When I got it at BB yesterday, they had a table with 12 Wiis on it, and it was already like 11:30 AM. I was stunned.

just last friday one of my coworkers was entertaining the idea of spending 750$ on a wii bundle with 3 games, so I'd say no.. or maybe hes just not that bright.

he's not that bright.

Found some Nintendo Wiis in the Duluth, GA area if anyone is interested. Best Buy on Pleasant Hill said they had 80+ this evening because of Mario Kart coming out. Guessing it is the same for other stores but BB might have been stock piling.

I've been to Best Buy (different ones) on 6 different occasions when they had 2 or more in stock. I've never seen them at Walmart or Target. I was sort of kicking myself because I could have bought one a month after they released....I just never wanted one that bad.

I live in SoCal and the Best Buy off Rosecrans and the 405 seemed to have plenty this weekend. Heck, even my local BlockBuster had them in stock.
