Is the way you type, any indication of your education?

By type I mean everything like capitalization, puntuation and grammar.

I am talking to this girl online. She is 23, a pre-K teacher and has a degree in Education. But it seems as if she can't write at all. No punctuation, bad grammar and just phrases instead of sentences.

Seems to me, that she hasn't lived in this country too long.


I bet a lot of jokes about the way I type are coming my way!

when chatting with someone online why does it matter? the faster to get the message across the better. if you don't capitalize a letter or add an apostrophe in the right spot it doesn't hinder your ability to read and comprehend what the person is trying to say.

I usually capitalize and try to use the correct grammar, unless I'm just not in the mood.

I always use correct punctuation and garmmar (Alteast, I try my best to.) when chatting online. Does it directly corrilate with intelligence? Absolutely not. But people assume that you are more intelligent.

Maybe "Proper" is a better term. I'm always told that I'm too proper (Using "Thank you", "Bless you" "I appologize", "Yes ma'am.", "No, sir."... etc. etc.).

shift-enter == newline without sending. I always use correct grammar, capitalization, and spelling when I IM, because that's the way I naturally type. It would take more effort to type the way some of these idiots ("lol") type than to type properly.

Cooljt1 - not everyone is an idiot, some people can spell correctly without a spell checker.

i dont care when im online for the most part.

i think what you are saying is slightly contradictory. although it may seem like there is only one way to read what you are typing, without proper grammer and punctuation, things may not be coming across in the intended manner. of course, its all about communication. and if the people you are typing to generally understand, it really doesnt matter.
