That's just not true at all. But it keeps getting repeated over and over, so eventually it will be true, I guess.

You can use that logic with anyone really.

The whole kennedy-liberal thing is just an excuse to hate on him because he's a fat alcoholic.

The whole Bush-neocon thing is just an excuse to hate on him because he's mentally challenged.

The whole Dean-liberal thing is just an excuse to hate on him because he's loud and obnoxious.
How many people know anything else about her other than she's married to Bill Clinton? Same goes for Nancy Pelosi -- oohhh, she's from San Francisco... BAAAD.

People know a LOT more about Hillary than Obama. And they know a lot more than just the fact she's married to Bill.

They know she has a partnership marriage. They know she's not a Yankee fan just because she wears their hat. People know she's as fake as Michael Jackson's skin.

Smells like divisive Bull. Black Clarence Page could run for pres and conservatives would vote for him. Same with Kay Baily out in Texas on womens angle. However they would'nt vote for Republican woman Snow up in Maine. Race and gender has nothing to do with it but politics they advocate which they don't agree with.

I was talking to a self confessed conservative Republican one day in my local pub. He expressed interest in a Clinton \ Barack presidential ticket. My response was not in the US anytime soon. People hate Ms Clinton because she is a woman and Mr Barack does not have the right skin color.

What do you think?

People don't hate her because she's a woman. Why would you say that? There are lots of reasons not to like her that have nothing to do with her gender. If she chooses to run she will have to deal with an avelanche of scandal left over from her days as first lady. The republicans will start with the October surprises in July. The woman has a lot of baggage and beyond anything else... she just not a likeable person and has terrible stage presence.

Barak IS a likeable guy. Sadly, I do sort of agree with Barak's skin color being a problem. (Not for me, but people in general and in both parties) Sad but true. I hope I'm wrong though. If he's the veep it's no big deal as nobody votes for the VP. At that point his job would be to soften Hill and make the ticket seem a little warmer and fuzzier.

I know people who hate her without really knowing anything about her and her policies. Someone wrote that part of this is due to the Republican\Conservative demonization machine. I wonder if she were a man would she have the same problems.

Obama is way too similar to Osama for him to be electable.
It lends itself to melodic catch phrases that will hypnotize the sheeple into action.

All you need is a good slogan :)

As usual, the Democrats don't know which battles to fight.

You all are going to make a big stink about Hillary being a woman, and it's going to backfire. "You don't want to vote for Hillary because she's a woman." And people are going to think to themselves, "No, that's not correct." All you are going to do is remind them why they really don't want to vote for her. You're going to make an issue out of something that isn't important, or rather, you are going to allow the Republicans to make it an important issue.

Kind of like in '04, the Democrats didn't scream "Iraq, Iraq, Iraq," they allowed the Republicans to scream "gay marriage, gay marriage, gay marriage."

Just STFU about Hillary being a woman, let her be as she is, a person, let her stand on her own merit.

Otherwise, the Democrats are going to look like the ones making a big stink about it, and the American people won't like it. They don't like being told they are sexist, nor racist, nor hillbillies, nor religious whackos, nor rednecks. Even if they really are. You can't win votes by offending the very people from whom you want votes.

The Democrats just need to learn how to play the game. Yes, they won last Tuesday. But seriously, the Democrats won because a fvcking retard sent 200,000 American troops into a country that never attacked us, killing over 600,000 of their civilians, tortured thousands more, and spent 2.2 trillion dollars of the tax payers' money doing it. And still lost.

The Democrats can't count on that happening very often.

look at Ford, he could pass as a person of European decent visually and they played the race card.

You should be prepared for any and all low ball attacks from the republicans.

Forget looking at the states that are 'locked in'. to either the Left or Right... The swing states are all that matters..

Clinton and Obama... they won't do it.. can't ... they can't win.

I'd see a Kerrey and Clinton ticket... but I really doubt Clinton would lower herself to run as Vice President.. I think Kerrey could or would overcome Hilary's negatives.. but not the Obama color issue given he don't have Four Stars like Colin Powel who in my opinion could run as a Democrat on a Kerrey ticket... so...

Folks can overcome by deeds... what the nation's illness continues to fester with..

Edit: Also what comes to mind is that basketball player who was gonna run for Governor of his Southern State... He didn't get enough support.. as I recall.. so it seems a Military man who disentangles himself from Bush can win.. even if of Color..

I would totally agree with you, but she has a good chance with Bill campaigning for her. He is a hell of a speaker, and a hell of a salesman. It all depends on just how much he does for her campaign, and I think he'll do a lot.

Not that I disagree strongly... but why do you think she is not qualified.. She's as qualified as anyone else that might run except Kerrey of Nebraska.. She's a brilliant person, A Senator, and an ex First Lady and Mrs Clinton... mighty fine resume, I think..

If Walken picks Ross Perot as his vice, he'll win the republican primary for sure, and would become an unstoppable political force. http://www.walken2008.com/campaign.html
This would be a great year for Perot to try for the republican ticket.

As for Clinton, the photos of her wearing two different baseball caps are far too damning, as this country only tolerates flip flopping when done by republicans. That's why this is the year for a Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert democratic ticket. Their experience with being on camera will serve them well. This combo could only be defeated by Christopher Walken.

Could you please provid a link where Democrats talk about Ms Clinton being a woman as a negative?

i would love to see powell run as a dem and i'd vote for him even if the only reason he was doing it was to give bush, rummy and condi a well-aimed smacking left/right combo bitch slap each.

kerry/powell? clark/obama? hmmmmm...gotta chew on those for a bit.

clinton/obama? doesn't click imo.

I honestly think that Obama's name will do him in.. petty, i know, but that's my bet.

On the other hand, I do think that the US is ready for a female president, just not one MRs. Clinton. Most people despise her for a longggg list of other reasons, primarily her inconsistency on just about every issue.

Yah.. give him time to get contempt and corrupted. That way he can work the system easy with lots of old friends like the motherfvcker Chaney and Bush dynasty does.

Harold Ford Jr. just lost his race for the senate and the media accused Tennessee of being racist. They were half right, 95% of blacks in Tennessee voted for Ford. So I assume there would be "racism" again if Obama ran for president. If for one would not vote for him just becausre I think he lacks the experience to be president. Just as I did not vote for Harold Ford Jr for reasons on than his skin color.

I must say I find it amusing to read all these posts about Obama/Ford being too inexperienced or Hilary being discussed just because her last name is Clinton, when we have a perfect example of how these issues don't seem to matter sitting in the oval office.

In St Louis, MO, I can still remember seeing the Black Community saying some African Americans were not Black Enough. If a candidate is not perceived to be "Black" enough, he may be thought poorly of by some African American voters. I dont think the Democratic Party is willing to back a Black man running for president. I think there is more racism in the Democratic Party than you realize.

I think that what people think they realize about what other people realize isn't realization at all. It's just an opinion the picked up somewhere.

I disagree. Blacks and women all have good policies.
