Not really. We still have right to change it (vote). We still have a high degree of republicanism (you local taxes, police, schools are all controlled locally by vote). People just need to wake up from slumber. Starvation will do it after dollar becomes worthless.

I'm actualy not a "tea Partier" I do however get most of what they are asking for and don't think its "unrealistic" its about choices and values. I do however find it funny that you would say social conservatives and the "neocons" are the borrow and spend group. Is that an offshoot of the tax and spend Libral dems? I think you wear your Anti tea party, neo con, conservative badge well.

Unfortunantly it's unrealistic to believe you can change reality, remove debt without paying it and ignore the market and pretend it's doing great when it's not. It's just a simple fact that ignoring reality makes you insane and the Tea Party is the party of the insane people.

I'm kinda surprised you haven't seen the term "borrow and spend" since that is what Reagan and GW did to this point where you have a national debt this great...

I'm not American, i'm English, a Liberal Democrat (not like the Liberal Democrats you have in the US, traditional Liberals, like your libertians minus the insane anarchy views)

One major thing that burns tons of money is the need for everything to be in multiple languages + the extra wages bilingual-required jobs require.

I say allow private business to post whatever language they want, but any business including hospitals that receive any government money should be required to be an English only facility. All government jobs/literature should be in English only.

We have given too much to allow our immigrants to remain 'foreigners' in our country.

When our 'huddled masses' first came here they took pride in learning English and AMERICAN ways. Now you speak to some in English and they are libel to bust a cap in your ass.

Exactly, if we are to keep encouraging 13 million illegal immigrants to come here and work for slave wages we must make them learn English so they don't feel like foreigners.

I could hardly care how they feel. I am tired of the real Americans having to take second place.

Sucks to be you. I'm sure the Native Americans, Slaves, Irish, and countless other "real americans" felt the same way. Welcome to the club.

Native Americans aside (IMHO they have the right to do whatever they want), every other 'people' that came to American came here and learned the customs and language.

They didn't come here to bring their old country with them, they came to escape it.

What are you basing that on? Where did you read that people emigrated to America to learn English and US customs?

WTF?!? Do you know history past the last 10 years?

For one I know a lot about this first hand as both my Grandmother and Great Grandmother on my dad's side, my Great Grandmother, Great Aunt on my mother's side were the most recent of our family to 'come to America' from Ireland/Wales and Czechoslovakia/Hungary/Austria.

There are tons of stories and even movies on this about the original people that made America what it is. Most studied all night long to learn english as quickly as possible to melt in.

Today the decendents cry out what a shithole this place is and how much better even CUBA is.

Fuck them, they can emmigrate back.

The main reasons we are failing as a nation is lack of pride and wanting to be a community.

You not understanding this is proof of that.

What the hell? You're citing stories and movies? Most did not in fact 'study all night long to learn english as quickly as possible to melt in'. Immigrant communities throughout US history are notorious for sticking to their own customs and languages. Not to trot out the oh so famous quote from Ben Franklin, but it's a good example:
Why should the Palatine boors [the Germans] be suffered to swarm into our settlements, and by herding together establish their language and manners to the exclusion of ours? Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a colony of aliens, who will soon be so numerous as to Germanize us instead of our anglifying them, and will never adopt our language or customs, any more than they can acquire our complexion.

Does that sound like a group intent on learning our customs ASAP? Franklin had the same short sighted concerns that people today have, and he was just as wrong. First generation immigrants often never learn their adopted language. Real assimilation takes place with the second and third generations. For example take this study: http://pewhispanic.org/files/reports/82.pdf

English proficiency goes from 23% in the first generation to 94% by the third. Seems like they want to learn our language just fine to me.

Pretty dumb. There are spanish speaking people here in the Los Angeles area who's ancestors have been here longer then most of these white hillbilly people who claim America "fuck yeah" status.

Not even close to the same thing. "beautiful being" has no other meaning. Unless you are referring to the cocksuck party? Then those people would be cocksuckers? Weak! Your posturing is kinda pathetic as I heard teabagger on every news source. Hell I think the daily show did a montage clip of every new channel saying teabagger.

It's a stupid reason to be mad and nobody gives a fuck, we can all see clearly through it.

Now look at "Tea Partier". Oh is that the proper label? Fucking stupid still. Fucking tea partier. Are we in 3rd grade?

How do you live with all this anger/hate boiling inside you? You are on the path to an early grave.

And there are others who are only 2nd or 3rd generation and still don't speak the language.

There are all kinds here in the USA.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Who wants a bunch of wetbacks living here? We just exploit them as slave labor and when we're done we put them on a bus back to Mexico. They know it, we know it, and it keeps them from forgetting their place. Hell, we stole a third of America from them including Texas and California. They're a bunch of losers. Making them learn English would just give them ideas about some day becoming citizens.

We didn't have that option with the European immigrants, but I'm sure if we would have taken it if we could. Hell, at one point we started shipping the blacks back to Africa once we were through with them.

Are you seriously asking why more than one language is spoken in the US?
Not at all. They can have little Mexico or Haiti...it's when I am faced with it as the language presented to me when most patrons are speaking English.

It's part of the problem. In the past if you wanted the good (and safe) jobs you learned the language...if you were ok in labor then perhaps not.

Do you have family like this?

No, my family came over with the man who founded Maryland.

Your depictions of what people came to America for are not supported by the evidence. They didn't come for the culture or the language, they came for work. There is a long history of new ethnic groups coming to America and specifically being noted for not absorbing the language when they came here, much to the chagrin of the average American. Specifically it is their children, and their children's children who assimilate to the culture and language.
