Is the ti4600 worth the extra money over the ti4200?

ti4200 will hit ti4600 speeds, so no reason to pay the extra. If you're willing to spend enough for a ti4600 you're better off getting something like a 9600pro.

You'd be better of getting the 9600 Pro regardless. It overs Ti4600-like performance right out of the box, plus DX9 Support. Also, its .13micron VPU is the most overclockable card you can buy.

Go with the Ti4200 for now. Then when Games that use DX9 come out near the end of the year, sell it and get either a 9800 pro or 5900 FX. They will have gone down in price a little a by then hopefully.

LOL, no stay away from the FX 5200 line, the only exception being a budget under $100.

There is no "exception" lol. Never get a fx5200, complete waste of money

Yes!

Don't even really need extra cooling, stock HSF can push the 4200 at 4600 speed with no problems. And you are only talking maybe an extra on avg. 5 FPS with the over clock.

I'd get the Albatron 4200. the special edition one... it looks sweet and overclocks like a mofo..

heck, i wouldnt even buy any of the NV30 line anymore... I'd get something newer like a 5600 or a 9600 pro at least.

I recently bought a Radeon 9600 Pro. I really love this card. Its fast, it overclocks great, and the price is right.

My only complaints: No DVI-VGA converter included 🙁
and no ramsinks, so i just put some on.

yup, its a gimmick....if you take a look at benchmarks the performance gain is really not that big a deal...but hey, its performance if you really want it.

Ti4600 isn't worth the extra $, nor is 8X AGP or any fancy heatsink, spend $90 or so and it's a great value... spend too much more than that and you'd be better off with a Radeon 9x00
