For detail of bug, see this link. I am looking for a Xaser III or V case, but it seemed that Thermaltake had poor records on responding queries on defective products, so I want to be sure that I am not getting a broken item during purchase. Can anyone tell whether the current batch of Casetek CK-1018/1019, Enermax CS-10181/10182, Thermaltake Xaser III 1000/2000 cases have properly running FireWire ports?

In addition, MACS/Casetek also produced the similarly designed CK-1020/1021, which was the basis of Thermaltake XaserV Damier/WinGo case. Are they affected by the 1394 defect?

Why do you want a Tt case. They are based off of other cases, all flash and generally cheaper manf. Also they have enough fans that your computer not only sounds like a jet engine but acts like one as well.

Flashy, perhaps; cheaper, how can it be cheaper when it is loaded with assessories you won't find in the OEM counterparts? As far as quality goes, since it is based on someone else's designs, it can't be lower quality than the original.

Noisy? You must have really sensitive ears. Even if it is noisy as you think, there always an option to use the fan controller, or running processor intensive applications at unattended times.

No they base the appearance on other products. They just tend to use cheaper works manship (ie sharp edges, plastic in place of metal). Not cheaper as in price. All those accessories are pointless, why do you need 8 fans in a computer... YOU DONT.

No, Tt makes some of the noisiest stuff out there. I do not have sensitive ears, 8 fans is LOUD especially Tt fans. Fan controllers can only do so much, yuo still have electrical whine, clicking etc.

8 Fans is completely unnecessary. 5 fan MAX is all you need (case fan-wise) Anymore and air is moving around so muhc in your case it isn't doing anything number one and number 2 it chokes the air for the other components, like a vacuum over you processor fan.
