After 4 years my HP 722C died (paper won't load and print properly vertically), I am looking to get the HP 940C. Any objections to this or other recommendations. It is $112 shipped from Dell right now so the price is good.
The HP 940c should be fine for average home or home/office use if you aren't printing hundreds of pages a day. The quality is excellent in both b&w and color. I tried the 960c and eventually returned it for the 990cse only because of the print speed. I occasionally need to print a couple thousand pages a week and needed all the speed I could get with a printer capable of b&w and color at a reasonable price. I don't remember if the 940c can utilize the 'print on two sides' attachment, but if it does it is a very useful feature.
I have a 970cxi. My sister recently got the 940c. The 940 is not as fast as the 970, but has the same print quality, which is very good. $112 is a great price.
Thanks for all the info. Went with a little better printer, the 960Cse because it uses the bigger ink cartridges and has the 1 yr warranty. DN, great website. Really helped me make my decision. Got it from Dell for $154. Not bad.
You can't go wrong with that model.I just got my 940c for $114.00 from Dell about 4 weeks ago & I am very pleased with the speed, quality & low noise.I printed some photo's from my sons birthday party & was amazed at the quality, actually went & bought some frames to hang them on the wall.
