I've seen lots of terminals. Some are better than others. It really depends on what you're after.

IMO it was awful. Out of the 4 people in the theater, 2 left halfway though. The other two (my girlfriend and I) seriously considered it. I'm considering writing to Spielberg to get my money back. The story is full of holes, and the movie is one big cliche. I guess that you could view it as some sort of fairy tale, but then the ending is unsatisfying by fairy-tale standards. Some other people seem to like it though. The reviews that I have seen have been mixed.

Based on would imply that Tom Hanks' character is a real person somewhere rather than a completely fictional character. ;)

Ah, nitpicking. :D

I'm 29. I never thought about it, but I never liked ET (even as a small kid), and I was pissed at what Spielberg did to the end of Artificial Intelligence. Maybe this makes me a Spielberg hater, I don't know.

As far as holes in the plot, I don't want to give anything away, but the protaginist's situation certainly would have gotten some media attention in real life. Also, I didn't really understand why Stanley Tucci's character was so mad at Tom Hanks' character towards the end of the movie.

You're thinking entirely too much. This ain't a William Faulkner novel we're talking about, it's a comedy. You're SUPPOSED to think less and laugh more with a movie like this.

Oh yeah, and the movie is hilarious. The character Gupta is the sh!t, hope the actor who played him gets a nomination for best supporting actor.
