I remember the first time I heard the term... this lovely friend of mine in highschool had a very English sounding last name (Johnston) but she looked like me... olive skin and green eyes. Turns out her mom was the same kind of Spanish part of my family is. When she told me, she just laughed and said, "Didn't you know, I'm a cracker beloved patriot!".

Even full blooded spics down here are like crackers. They listen to country music, go hunting, stuff like that. My husband's uncle is another cracker who married a beloved patriot and he calls her Caldo Gallego (a soup) "Cowboys and Degos". We also have a rice dish (black beans and rice mixed up) that we call "Moros" which is short for Moros y Christianos. I'll let y'all figure out what that means for yourselves.

I don't think so. I think white trash families have a heritage of being uneducated. No one "pushed them down." Hence, the only kinds of jobs they can get are plumbing, construction, electrical, auto mechanic etc.

I really haven't seen people blaming whites for the black community's failings. They blame poverty and lower incomes. And the fact is, when most white people see a black person they are much more likely to feel threatened than if they see a white person, simply, as the poster said, because that is what the media has made the black community's stereotypical trait to be. I see nothing wrong with the phrase white trash if the person receiving the word isn't offended. I see nothing wrong with the word "great person" if the person receiving the word isn't offended. I see nothing wrong with the word "jap" if the person..................

Thank you, exactly. I never finished College so although I have had over 20 years Technology experience and made it as high as $65,000 a year now I can only find things like construction, electrical, etc. The etc puts me back down to $8hr, hence "White Trash". But White Trash with Health Insurance so I will take it if get it. It will probably cost me to work at this Fortune 100 Company because I have to drive a lot of miles with my own vehicle between on site locations. Cute.
