Thinking of using a Sparkle 350W PS to power an AMD 2000 XP.
Peripherals include CD-RW, DVD, Floppy, & GeForce 4 4200.

Will not O/C.

Model is Sparkle FSP 350-60BN UL.

Is this PS quiet? I was also thinking about the Enermax EG365P-VE FCA.

No, it's not very quiet but it's a solid PSU. I have the FSP350-60BT, not sure what the difference is. It came with a high CFM NMB fan, I swapped it out for NMB's quietest fan at 22dBA, 25CFM and it's worked great.

I wouldn't recommend the Enermax, mine died after less than a year!!! :(

I have a Sparkle now, and it's fairly quiet, I'd say on the level of the Enermax although I have the 300W one, not the 350...

Logar, if you want the quietest PSU available, go to quietpc.com. It's expensive though. You won't even know it's running when it's on. It is also quieter and better built than the Zalman PSUs

No, SPI are not very quiet.

I own about 9 Enermaxes, they are very quiet, I recommend those in terms of price/performance/quality over anything. We use Enermaxes at work too. Never seen a problem in any of them.

If you want uber quiet, try Zalman, those are quiet as hell.

If you want uber quiet, try Zalman, those are quiet as hell.

Zalmans give off 32dba and has poor construction whereas the QuietPC is less than 26dba and they also drop thier voltage. In most reviews, QuietPC edges Zalman in nearly every category

Thanks guys! Sorry I didn't respond earlier... I went on a little vacation. Maybe I'll go with the Sparkle and rip out the fan ;)
