I've heard Deadwood was pretty good. My Bro has it on DVD I believe. I have been to Deadwood South Dakota a few times myself.

Pretty good. Biggest problem is that the series was cancelled before there was any kind of resolution to the story line.

I can't repeat this enough times:

If you haven't seen the short-lived comedy Party Down (2009-2010), do so. It might be on Netflix. One of the best comedies I've seen in the past 20 years.

Then, of course, there's Louie. Can't quite call it a comedy. It's unique, and maybe the best written show on TV today.

Are you just randomly naming shows from the 70s? Surely you don't think crap like The Love Boat and The Brady Bunch are among the best TV shows in history? Nobody is that vapid.

How the f*ck do you list Fish and not list Barney Miller?

Barney Miller was excellent. Just really well done, character-driven comedy.

Fish lasted maybe one season?

I know what you mean. I think it is a comedy, but it's kind of like some of his standup - the painful, morbid self-loathing.... somehow you end up laughing anyway.
