Is the Sony E400 any worse than the G400 except for max resolution?

Looking at the E400 and G400, I'm just wondering is there really any difference other than the max resolution?

Say at 800x600x32bpp or 1024x768x32bpp will they look the same?

I know the G400 goes to higher res but with my vision I'll never use those super high resolutions anyways.

It probably doesn't matter because I'll probably get the 900NF...but I'm just curious how the various Sony models differ.

As much as I wish I could offer any help, I will just say that mine is sitting in the box, waiting for us to move into our new house so I can set it all up.

It's hard sitting at home knowing that at my mom's house waiting for me to pick it up and assemble it all... AMD Tbird 1GHz, 19" sony, blah blah, i can't wait!

i asked around myself awhile back, and the techs at sony told me that all g-series and higher are made in japan and those below are made elsewhere.

As far as I know, not ALL G-series are made in Japan

I dont think there will be any difference at 800 or 1024

I think the G400 also has an extra input, so you can have 2 computers hooked up to the same monitor and flick a switch to change between them.

I know my IBM P96 also has this feature, but I haven't tested it out, because I don't have an extra hd 15 cable. I was thinking of testing it using my laptop as the second computer.

Higher refresh rates and the extra input for two pc. Both models are quality units. And I can confirm that the G series are made elsewhere. My CPG G400 was assembled in Mexico.
