Is the SIS648 chipset currently the best P4 DDR solution?

SIS648: DDR 333, AGP 8X, USB 2.0, ATA133, 400/533 FSB.

Should a person be buying DDR 400 ram? (in hopes of overclocking?)

When is Intel releasing a new 845 chip?

Actually I'm about to post my review of retail 648 and P4X400 boards, but I'll give you the dirt a little early...you don't want DDR400 as it stands today. Get some high quality DDR333 and you'll be plenty fast, stable, and consequently happy. 🙂

I have some XMS PC3000 (DDR366) in my system. It's 100% stable @ DDR356 speeds (could do more I'm sure, but at that speed I'm getting great performance).

I think DDR400 is overkill at this point unless the motherboard atcually supports that speed (meaning not overclocking), however If I'm not mistaking I believe DDR400 can be used via the memory ratio settings?

Though, I'd get some high quality DDR333 or DDR366 (DDR366 just in case you want to push your ram a little).

Boards spotting the SiS648 will be top notch performers I believe. I can't wait till we start seeing these boards! 😀
