anyone catch howard stern tonight? it looks like the rock dropped more then 50lbs of muscle mass... not that that is a bad thing if he really wants to persue acting in feature films... arnold and sly both slimmed down... but just seems like he's done it SO fast.....

Doesn't the reduced use of steroids and the assorted other crap they (Pro wrestlers ) use to bulk up seem a more likely answer?

Wrestlers weight-lift like everyday for hours to keep up their muscle mass... With The Rock making movies now I would imagine he won't have that kinda time to keep that up... So I guess the quick drop in muscle mass is reasonable...

Yes, b/c lifting for hours is the quickest way to get and stay big.

Dumbass, stop living in the '80s. The MAJORITY of "sports entertainment" performers DO NOT use steriods. That was the past.

There was a cover spread and article in some magazine - Mens Health I think it was? Probably last month's issue - it covered the topic of his weight loss and the type of lifting and cardio he does now with his actor schedule. He works each body part 3x a week now. It seems insane but hey, it worked for him - he claimed he was down to 7% bf, which looking at the pictures - didn't seem like 7% but still a low number.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAAH only in the 80's

Please tell me you are kidding.

thats the thing w/ the rock. he went to h/s like 5 min from me... he was always a big guy... played pro football in canada and now he looks thinner then his h/s photo...

its not like he juiced for a year and got all big for the WWE and now he's not juicing so he's small... he's been lifing for prob the past 15+ years now and once you've been doing it that long... even 2-3 day workouts can maintain your body mass as long as you eat... to kep the calories in - you won't be as ripped or cut, but you'll still have the majority of the muscle mass

You don't really believe that, do you? I'm willing to bet that the majority of pro wrestlers DO use steroids.
You don't get as big as Triple H without them.

I do, however, doubt that the Rock used them. He was only 270lbs, and not really puffy like most 'roid users get, plus he is an actual athlete, he was a defensive lineman at U-Miami....so 270lbs is about right for that position.

So HHH used them but the Rock didn't? HHH was a teenage body building champ at the age of 16. He won several state titles IIRC. (which isn't to say that he didn't use them)

The Rock at 16, looked like he was in his mid 20's. The Rock may or may not have taken steriods, but I doubt his use was as prevelent as HHH or any of the other grossly OVER developed stars.

The only pics of the Rock with man boobs, date back to when he was ~13-14. Watch his bio on E, or MTV, or whatever channel. Jay Leno brought the pic up too.

Well, it's a well known fact that body builders use steroids. You can't get that big without them, just look at the "all natural" body building competitions.....the heavyweights there look like the smallest dudes on the "regular" body building comps.

The Rock set PA state records for weight lifting in high school, has admitted to briefly using 'roids at 18, but you also have to remember that he was a college football player.....they are tested all the time, and 'roid use is very hard to get away with.

All you have to do is look at the two, and you can see how much more muscle that HHH has and you know who's juicing and who isn't.

Rock probably did use roids, and I can only hope that slick's post was in jest.

Whether going off roids or limiting them (which will kill muscle size in most cases - especially when you're huge) was the rock's problem, or he simply got sick of devoting his life to weight lifting, I can't say.

Roids are still big because although in sports like the olympics most people frown on them, in something like pro-wrestling the public doesn't give a damn, and in turn neither do the promoters of the sport. Dito for baseball. They hardly even test for drugs in baseball, and far less so than in football, olympics, etc.

You DO realize that there are legal forms of steriods that are rampant all over athletics and wannabe sports like wrestling, right?
