Is the remake of The Omen worth a rental?

I saw it the day it came out in theaters. It was OK, but I've never seen the original. It relied HEAVILY on cheap scare tactics (ie flashy images really fast with loud noises)

My GF and I ended up laughing during most of the "scary" scenes.. it's was pretty awful I thought.

I was at my brother's house while he was watching it, and from the bits and pieces I saw there is no reason to watch it instead of the original. It definately looked like a cheap ploy to make a quick buck off of an already successful horror movie.
