This is the tv i am looking at and am wondering if any one has this or knows anything about it? It comes with a free progressive scan DVD player. Any help will be appreciated!

i don't like RCA Big Screens. The picture isn't the greatest from what I've seen I haven't seen the specific model you mentioned. I'd stick with Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Sony, Pioneer, and possibly Panasonic (I really didn't like Panasonic image clarity much). Those brands will be pricier but you'll be a lot happier long-term.

Don't buy RCA anymore. The only sure thing is they will break within the month after the warranty expires.

i'm not a fan of rca either, picture quality isnt great and either is reliability. Mitsu makes some beautiful hdtvs, and so does pioneer (in the elite series)

RCA sucks IMO. Go with what Raspewtin said. Add JVC tot he list (haven't had any problem with them).

EDIT - LOL @ Gunbuster :D

I am getting the TV for $2300 so that is why I am going with the RCA. I don't like the fact that several people are telling me about the not so good quality on RCA's but at this price I can't not get it. It is from a dealer that is related to the family so I am getting it at his cost. Amazing on the price that is sells for in stores.
I am sure that some people are statisfied with their RCA's...anyone? While RCA is mainly at radio shack, this model is not carried at radio shack.
Here is a review on the model above the one I am getting Review on RCA P61300

i saw a Mitsubishi 60" for $2800 at a store. That's not much more and a way better set.

it's HDTV capable (displays 480p in 4:3 format, 1080i in 16:9 format, 540p in 16:9 format) most HDTVs do not include HDTV tuner (mainly b/c most HDTV tuners will be useless in a few years if they change things around). you usually buy that seperately. It can squeeze 480i so that you can display DVDs without any loss of picture (if the DVD players adds black bars, it removes lines of video since most dvds are now formatted 16:9) the picture is excellent and the line doublers in the newest series are so good they surpass the very expensive Pioneer Elite TV's line doublers. (Line doublers increase regular TV to HDTV resolutions)

Just because something is HDTV, doesn't make the video quality good. I have seen some HDTVs in the store that look above average, but not great.

I would suggest you compare the image of that one to something like a Toshiba 56H80 and then decide.

Personally, my fave is the Toshiba 40H80. I find that bigger than 40" the image is too big (and the quality suffers) unless you're in a very large room.
