I'd argue that Forza Horizon 2 is a lot more must have than Destiny. Destiny has a mixed reception. FH2 is universally praised.

He owns a PS4 and wants to know about PS4 games. FH2 is an Xbox One game.

I don't know I'd pick Destiny over any racing game. Racing for me is much more repetitive than Destiny is, but that's just my opinion. I also have not played a good racing game in a long time..mainly because i suck, and also because there hasn't been one to interest me much since burnout series.

It's really hard to do that, though. Sure, others like it, but you never want to buy a subjective product based solely on the opinions of others. Like, people can tell me how amazing GTA V is until they're blue in the face, but I still won't enjoy it if I buy it.
BS

That is exactly how I got into console gaming in the first place. Before then I was a PC gamer. Then several people I knew bought an original Xbox. They liked it and I bought one based on their opinions--and they were not PC gamers. This was in 2002 and I've played it until the 360 came out.

Guess what I did then? Friends bought it, had positive opinions on it, and my wait and see conclusion was to buy one, too. Jesus, all those countless enjoying nights playing with my friends were a lie, a mistake?

BS!

The UI for psn beats the one on xb1 by far though.

I will have to politely have to disagree. To me the PS4 UI is terrible its like Sony never learned from the terrible UI on the PS3. The fact that Sony never changed it in 7 really cements it.

I agree they should update it but I can't stand the Xbox tiles as much either.

The xb1 is a cluttered mess and you can almost never find what you want.

Besides I was talking about the storefronts. I didn't make that clear previously. I think the xbl store on the xb1 is very bad. It is much easier to navigate to what's new and browse through on my ps4.

I think that the One's UI only fails if you do a lot. When you're someone who doesn't use all of the media crap and such, it doesn't really have a problem.

On top of that, if you have a Kinect, the UI layout is irrelevant, in most cases. Like, if you can't find out where to redeem a code, you just say, "Xbox, use a code," and the Kinect will take it from there.

Both UIs likely suck (never used the PS4, or seen its UI), but Microsoft at least gave us a way around it.

The store on the Xbone is really bad, hell the whole ui is bad. Sure the ps4 isn't perfect but at least I can find what I'm looking for easily. The change from 360 to Xbone was huge, they should of kept it closer to what everyone was use to.

If we did that, we'd still be using a Windows 3.1 interface or something. While the One's UI is cumbersome, I've not had trouble finding anything on the console, because the stuff I don't feel like looking for, I let the Kinect find.

If you've had a Windows 8 or Windows Phone device, it's a lot more natural.

worst part about the X1 interface is that everything is a fucking app. it was so much more streamlined in x360 where the friends list and messages and the whole dash in general was just on top of what you were doing in the background. everything is so much slower now and cumbersome because its like 50 levels deep and takes forever to load up 3 apps just to read a damn message.

yesterday i unlocked an achievement, then held down the guide button to see what it was for. bad mistake, as i didn't realize it would take a minute just to read it. it then opened the "achievements app", then it found the game and achievement, then i got a spinning icon while it loaded up the description. then when i was done, i had to exit the achievement app and go back to the game.

just not streamlined at all.

I have windows 8.1 and I have never used the touch interface on it. I know how it functions on a basic level but I use the desktop mode.

Yeah and that's something I hope they really work on once all the small things they are adjusting now get finished up. I am sure it would be a big overhaul to change friends and achievements from being an app.

Same, I use it 99% in desktop mode, though I have a Windows Phone, so I'm used to the interface of tiles.

My main complaint has been how a third-party app like Twitch can run in the background, but they won't get Xbox Music doing the same. I don't mind the way things run as separate applications though. I like having the option to run the Achievements app snapped to my game, as I try to finish something. It's preferable to solely opting to pause a game, open an overlay, and check Achievements. Plus, Smartglass has helped with the second screen viewing option.

It's a tradeoff, but I think that the positive of having multitasking outweigh the negative of overusing it. That's just me though, and obviously, some disagree.

The biggest thing I hate about the PS4 UI is no organization for games. It's just one long list. With all the free games we get, my list is really long.

I probably have 20+ games on my list. It would be nice to categorize them by genre or favorites. Something.

Yeah, the PS4 UI needs folders pretty bad. Hopefully that'll come along in a patch soon, since it was a rumored feature being worked on.

It needs folders or collapsed sections under each item in that list of games. I haven't downloaded many of the free games so far as I haven't had much interest but I have all 8 games I own installed at once. Good thing I switched hard drives when I bought the system.

How is that bad? The 3.1 interface is actually quite good as far as getting stuff done, the whole Windows, menu's and icons are still used in modern OS's. Not something you want for gaming of course but sometimes changing the method of interacting with executables is done just for the sake of change and not for efficiency.
Customizable organization of large tiles without cluttering a mass of them is not a hard concept, it would actually pretty efficient. I think MS has the right idea, they just need to reduce the clutter and be more efficient with how you interact, but I haven't' used it much.

So far Steam does it better, at least you can scroll tiles alphabetically but it's still not perfect nor very customizable but at least it's clutter free and to the point.

Agreed that change needs to stop happening just to say something is different (sports game UIs come to mind immediately), but there's also a degree to which change can be useful. Like I said, going the 360 route would have some advantages, but it leaves you with a less-capable OS and interface overall.

The One's UI is cluttered, but the OS is pretty capable. Multitasking is a great thing, and the Kinect helps with the navigational issues, should you have one. There could be improvements, but I'll take too many apps over an OS without multitasking, if I have to choose.

I'll stop debating the matter now, because it's not what the thread is about.
