I don't like the prophet Muhammad, I think he caused a lot of misery in the world.

But for better or worse I think he changed the world more than anyone else in history.

Can you name anyone more Influential?

Timur accounted for the death of 5% of the world population of his time....

.

"Scholars estimate that his military campaigns caused the deaths of 17 million people, amounting to about 5% of the world population at the time."

Good thing he died on his way to China, or there would be even more deaths.

The Mongols killed 11% of world population but over several rulers.

Someone else would have gotten to it sooner or later, but...how bout the first caveman to create a controlled fire?

Nobody recorded or remembers who that caveman was of course, but...I don't know of any other realizations/inventions (the wheel, maybe?) that contributed moreso to human development, continuing all the way up to modern day.

So...I don't know his name-grunt, but I CHOOSE THAT GUY. :p

Hah! I loved 'Wizard of Id' when I was a kid, and my friends never understood why.

The timelines jumped around in that comic strip, so some were characters in Midieval/Arthurian times, and others were more like the cavemen in BC. The cavemen strips were usually the funniest to me, especially when they'd show them utilizing modern technology like telephones, etc.

BC and Wizard Of ID are not the same.
Yes, I realize this, Captain Obvious, but thanks for pointing that out.

Never said they were the same strip, or done by the same artist and writer. Sorry you didn't comprehend the commentary...read about 20% slower next time and process the words before commenting.

In more modern history I'd pick Gutenberg over Muhammad.

I have no idea what “most influential” means but whoever invented writing and whoever invented the first phonetic alphabet have to be up there by some definitions as would be Copernicus Newton Darwin and Einstein by others. Somewhere back there we also have the first primate ancestor who modified a stone.

Copernicus, Newton, Galileo, Einstein, who ever the heck it was that created penicillin. The list could be pages long.
