Is the problem my video card or monitor?

I have a Dell 2005fpw connected via dvi to an ATI 9600XT in a Shuttle sized computer.

Sometimes when I restart the computer, I see the boot screen and Windows XP logo without problem, but then the screen goes blank even though I hear the computer finish booting into Windows.

To fix it, I have to restart the computer with the 'Windows" key and it usually works the first time.

No clue as to what is going on. Any ideas?

Could be a few things. Is your case overly warm? Is the graphics card overheating? Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Make sure your monitor cable isn't loose.

I checked all cables, left the side off the computer by the video card for the fan. All seems to be fine. I just did a driver update so hopefully that helps. Just never had this problem using the same monitor and video card in an Asus SFF that I used to have.
