Is the post office open tomm?

Um, I don't think so. According to the list of Federal holidays when they are closed, New Year's Day 2003, they were not open. I'm assuming the same thing for New Year's Day 2004, too.

Considering I have to mail in college apps that have to be postmarked Jan 1st I sure hope so.

Who the hell came up with the idea to make apps postmarked by Jan 1st anyway? The post office doesn't even open that day so how is it going to happen?

😕

At least Vanderbilt has the brains to make it the 2nd

But, aphex is on the East coast - and did post his question after midnight on New Year's Eve - 12/31/2003. That's the first thing I looked at before posting the link to the USPS site. After all, not everyone resides in a Pacific Time zone.
