Newegg has a sale today on these speakers for $69.99. Is it any good?

Well, I was planning on getting some Monitor 60s or possibly 70s.

key is matching the tweeter. If they are from the same series, it should be ok.

I would recommend you get one with the same mid range too.

The CS1 will be a good match for the Monitor 50 or 60, and those are all good speakers for the price. If you go with Monitor 70, you'll want the CS2.

I have heard the CS2 is the way to go with any monitors. The CS1 may technically match the other monitors better, but the CS2 is supposed to sound a lot better than the CS1.

I have a CS2 with Monitor 60s and I love it. It does stand out a *tiny tiny* bit from the left and right, but that is what a center is for!

The mid-woofs in the Monitor 50 and 60 and CS1 are 5 1/4". The mid-woofs in the CS2 and Monitor 70 are 6.5". That's probably the source of the variation. The tweeters are all the same size and likely the same or similar enough that they would blend well together.

I have a whole polk setup

-Monitor 50's
-CS1
-Monitor 30's

They're more than enough for my apartment but for a house they may be a bit inadequate. They're decent speakers for the money though.

I have a CS175i . It has a silk dome tweeter. as long as you other's are matched it should be ok. I'm using infinity speakers that have silk dome tweeters. Works well for me.

I think I got mine at frys when back in the day 99 bucks for center was cheap....
