Is the PCI-E 6+2 connector safe too?

Hi, I just upgraded from a HD4830 card to an Nvidia 460 GTX. This card however, requires 2x PCI-E power connecters. My PSU (Sea sonic SR2 500 watt) only has 1 PCI-E 6 pins and 1 PCI-E 6+2 pins connector. My worries is whether it's a good idea to use it to power the card. The card came with a 2x12 volt converter into a PCI-E 6 pin one. Should I use that one instead? I'm sorry if it's a stupid question. Thank you.

No problem, go ahead and use the two PCIe connectors you have - the second, the 6+2, was made that way so it could be used as a 6 or 8 pin connector, so go ahead and use it as the second connector.
