is the owl a bad luck bird?

someone told me about a superstition about owls being bad luck. NE1 else hear something like this?

In some cultures, yes, because it associated with darkness (i.e., night). In others it represents wisdom. Personally, I think they are good luck

The owl symbolizes wisdom in Greek and Roman mythology... it is the bird of Pallas Athena (also known as Minerva), my favorite goddess.

So, if the owl symbolizes bad luck in another culture's tradition, the Greco-Roman symbology cancels it out.
