is the owl a bad luck bird?

someone told me about a superstition about owls being bad luck. NE1 else hear something like this?

In some cultures, yes, because it associated with darkness (i.e., night). In others it represents wisdom. Personally, I think they are good luck :)

The owl symbolizes wisdom in Greek and Roman mythology... it is the bird of Pallas Athena (also known as Minerva), my favorite goddess. :)

So, if the owl symbolizes bad luck in another culture's tradition, the Greco-Roman symbology cancels it out. :p

yeah sort of, my Dad has a white one, stuffed and perched in the den permenently.

Pigeons are the bum luck bird...bad luck if they crap on ya or your paint job.
