Is The Office the funniest show since Seinfeld?

US or UK version? UK version rocked. I have yet to watch the US version though.

I like them both quite a bit. The UK show is more to my taste, but the US show has gotten great. I think it really hit its stride this season - I think initially they were trying a little too hard to replicate the English show, but now they're letting it get considerably goofier. The English show really is like a jewel - it's just perfect for what it is (though I think I loved it more before I watched the second season - the special kinda revived it for me, though).

even mamas family wasnt as painful to watch

QFT

id rather watch televised bowling

The Office is an acquired taste. It's not for fans of slapstick/physical comedy. It doesn't go the 'cheap laugh' route that all other sitcoms do these days (That 70s Show is the worst show I've ever seen).

Dwight is one of the most interesting characters in a comedy in a long time. As far as network TV goes, I cannot think of any show that is funnier.

The Office was tough to watch at first because the boss was overacting to the point of absurdity. But, lately, the show has been decent to watch and the atmosphere hasn't been so entirely depressing.

It's hard to watch a show where the entire premise is 'the depressing atmosphere of the office.' Since they've lightened it up a bit.. and you actually get to see employees laughing once in a while, the show is hilarious..

The Dwight Karate episode was freakin' hilarious.. "Did you lose your desk, Dwight?"

Agreed.. Dwight, imo, is the best character. I think the boss (Michael) is the worst.

I am going to have go out on a limb here and say no. It has its moments, but I am not sure what the director and writers are doing with this whole love thing between Pam and Jim.

Don't get me wrong I truly enjoy this show, and I even watched the British version.....but Seinfeld great? I dunno.....

I would rather watch paint dry for an hour than sit through 30 minutes of Seinfeld. George is the least funny character ever made!!!! I kinda like the Office though.

Really? I think That 70's Show is a great show.

The Office is hilarious. I also love Seinfeld - you either hate it or you love it.

I've been told that the Uk show is the better dramedy, the US show is the better comedy.

I must be the only person in the world who never "got" seinfeld...IMO, it was a horrible waste of TV bandwidth...Jerry's stand-up acts weren't bad, so I was surprised that the show sucked so badly...The Office isn't any better IMO...

It's weird, because I really don't laugh while watching Seinfeld, but I still absolutely love it.

I've watched the UK version, and the pilot for the US version really turned me off to the American version. Then, I tried it again, got all the episodes, and watched them, and if you just take the pilot out of the equation, it's a really great show. I laugh all the time. Not as much as during the UK version, but it's just as good.

i love Seinfeld

i love The Office

i loved Arrested Development (i've given up hope that it's ever coming back)

three of the best comedies ever.
