Is the Nikon D3300 a decent camera?

My boss is looking for a DSLR camera and I came across the following deal at crutchfield.com

For the price it seems like it's a good deal, but haven't really researched it much.

That is an entry level camera. It is super high on wish list together with a 35mm prime. Good review that will make you want to buy it:

The above deal was on yesterday at $450, refurb, incl both lenses. You can do better.
