I am going to the US on a vacation in the middle of October, I plan to buy a couple of Nexus 7s. However, since I am from another country I cannot buy it on the play-store. Is the Nexus 7 easy to get in regular stores in the US now? Is it more expensive than 200 dollars there? What about other webshops? I didn't find it on amazon at 200 dollars.

I believe Office Max, Staples and Office Depot all carry it for the normal prices. I'd just check on their sites for whatever locals stores are near where you're going.

The $200 version is for 8gigs of memory. The stores I've seen have only had the 16gig version which is 250, but that's normal price.

Staples carries both 8 & 16 GB versions. I bought 8gb in store that I gave as gift.

Office Max & office Depot carry the 8gb. Walmart, & Staples carry the 16gb. You will have to pay the sales tax, but there is no shipping.

In this weeks Staple's Ad, the Nexus 7 is advertised on the very front page. Both the 8gb and the 16gb versions are advertised. Micro Center carries the 16gb.

Amazon is only showing sales from third-parties and they're all asking over MSRP.

Walmart also carries them if you dare go in there.

I actually ordered mine from the play store when it initially came out and an hour later found out our local Walmart had it in stock for the same price without shipping. Tried to cancel my play store order but they did not allow me (1 hour after), had to wait a few days. Play store did come with a 20$ play store credit.

It doesn't matter where you purchase from. The free $25 Playstore credit is available to everyone. But I think I read the free credit offer ends at the end of this month.

I bought a 8GB Nexus 7 at Office Depot on Monday, here in Texas. I paid $200. They were selling both the 16 and 8 GB models.

i even saw it in stock at walmart right after it first came out and was supposedly in short supply. when people realized they had manufacturing defects sales slowed down, thats the only reason i havent bought one yet, well that and the fact that they havent come out with a 3g/4g version yet

I saw a suggestion in another post and checked out Craigslist before heading out to MC. I picked up an 8GB one in mint condition. It did not include the $25 Google Play credit, but it did include a Blurex case for it. Paid $150. Called Google and had it transferred over to me since it came from Google. I think Asus covers warranty from retailers.

Also getting an OTG (on the go) cable delivered today so I can plug in my USB flash drives. :) There's an app that you can buy for $3 that eliminates the need to root your Nexus 7 to use a flash drive. Nexus Media Importer. Just need a cable that works with it.

Yes, Google Play credit ends 9/30.
