Is the multiplier locked on a P200mmx?

nope,
we have about 10 of these at our office that i have set to run at 233 by changeing the multiplier.
thay have been running for 2+ years fine on old asus boards.

I didn't think they were, but I tried changing the multiplier on my Soyo SY-5ED mb and got no change in cpu speed. I did up the bus to 75 and that got me 225. I'm sort of new to overclocking. Any idea why the multiplier change wouldn't work?

i know that on some of our asus boards it will list the speed as 231, some 225 and still some 233. Now these are not all the same boards, but close. I think that most are P/I-p55tp4's and some are P/I-p55tp4xeg's. many different revisions of each. but even if they list the incorrect speed at boot, they all show small bump in performance in windows.
at home i have and old abit atx board that even though it shows a speed of 266 at boot, i have it at (3.5*83) 290. and it is running at more than 266. i have run tests in quake 2 and AutoCAD 14. both show an improvement.

Yes the later ones were locked. I have one that I used to oc with 75mhz bus to 225, which is faster than 233@66mhz bus
