I bought it on impulse since it was on sale but reading reviews on newegg and amazon seems to not highly rated. Anybody here with that board?

There's scarce information so far, but it's MSI and they are supporting it for bclk overclocking. Nothing to worry about..
Update the bios and put it to work 🙂

Yeah, I was looking around at Skylake MB's and seen the many poor reviews on that one. Kind of would scare me away really. Looks like a QA problem and this line has had it's share of problems. Then again there are many that have had no issues at all, so hope you got one of the good ones is the best you can do for now.

If you look at every MB maker, even the best of the best have failed/DOA MB's. It's just some lines have fewer failures than others. I'm not a MSI basher as the only bad MSI product I've had was a P35 MB that tanked at almost four years old, so that's not bad in my eyes.

Now I think I'm going to wait for Skylake-E now as my Asus MB has settled down after driver up dates and a good cleaning.

Good luck to you.

Even I was scared of the (really) bad reviews when I bought my 970a ds3p (that's am3+). However, it has no issues whatsoever and runs stupendously. I guess, some 1-star reviewers are the victims of mobo defects.
