Is the MS hotfix for Win XP and dual cores still needed ?

Does anyone know if the MS hotfix for Winxp and dual cores is still needed with Conroe? I'm thinking so, but wondering if anyone had more recent info? (I know it was needed pretty much for X2's and Pentium D's)
 
I have a Pentium D. The only windows related patches I have installed were those on Windows Update. If it is not on Windows Update, then I did not download it. I have absolutely no problems running anything at all.
