it become more girl in current models. they try to attract men back my making it fast. the old 96ish design was more man. now its become girl with the spyder n stuff.

my sister is in love with spyer convertible.

I don't know but I had a brand new '90 and it was one of the best cars I ever owned.

They're not really all that fast stock.

Anyhow, to answer the question they are because most of them on the road are RS/GS models.

Or, for the non-DSM models, most are 4 bangers, not V6s.
