Is the Laser Pointer bad for the dog?

The dog will chase the red dot like nobody's business.

It is funny to watch a 75 pound dog "bounce" around the living room in a desperate attempt to catch it.

Question though... When I turn off the laser pointer, he continues to look for the dot...for quite some time.

Is my dog going to need therapy later on? Or is ok to use the laser pointer for play time?

Is he a lab by any chance? One of my friends' dog used to do that.

i used to do that with my cat. she would spin in circles and then run off into a wall :Q

The dig is a German Sheppard/Chow/Rotwiler mix (according to the vet).

Our cat chases it too...but not like she used to. I think she caught on that she's never gonna catch it. lol
