Is the GeForceFX 5200 non-Ultra not DX9 compliant?

PNY GeForceFX 5200 Ultra: $199

Asylum GeForceFX 5200: Tag specs - "250MHz core speed, blah blah blah blah"

PNY GeForceFX 5200 Ultra: Tag specs - "Faster core, blah blah blah, DirectX 9 compliant"

Is that what makes the $100 difference? It sure isn't the core/memory speed alone, right?

Wow...I didn't know the 5200 Ultra cost that much! Isn't it slower than the Radeon 9600 PRO?

The FX5200 non-Ultra meets only minimum DX9 HW reqs. It is compliant, but less than the 5600 series since it's simplified.

Beware! Some 5200 cards are only 64-bit castrated versions, rather than full 128-bit like the ultra.
We don't have a sure-fire method of knowing HOW to tell yet, other than finding out it's slower than an MX-440 when you put it in your system. Someone said in an article that 128-bit is required for 128MB, so that would do it, but I'm not so sure... especially with the 2x difference in price. I'd avoid the cheap 5200 at this point, and $200US would get you a much, much better card like the Radeon 9500 Pro or even 9700 non-Pro.
