Ok, Im building a new system. I was going to get a Geforce 3 Ti200, then decided to look into the GeForce4. Its said to be coming out in early Feb. i think.. Is it worth waiting a month. What kind of speeds dose it have.. Equal to or faster than a Geforce3. Any info on the Geforce4 compared to the Geforce3, or anyhing about the Geforce 4 would help.

It might just be worth waiting for, it should drop the prices on existing GeForce3 model cards. The Ti500 may come into your range or at least the Ti200 will drop some more.

You should definitely wait and see how things pan out. If nothing else current GF3 prices should drop.

Just get a Gainward Ti200 from newegg.com for $155 and O/C that baby to Ti 500 speeds!

I wouldn't. Price will be an arm and a leg but if you got the funds and time go for it ;)

It's not worht the wait...unless you want to try to buy a GF3 model for less when they come out. Ti200's are priced well right now and if you want more card, spend the money for a Radeon 8500. The quality of the video is outstanding on the card...better than and GF3.

All i have to say is that it better be. Radeons have crap quality, if you say it has good quality your blind (or have a crap monitor)

I would say it is worth the wait (as has been stated by others above) even if you decide not to purchase it, as the prices of current Geforce 3's will surely drop. And ATI is releasing a card named "Excalibur" or the Radeon 8500 XT which is clocked at 300/300 (same feature set). With all of the new cards coming out VERY soon I'd wait. Then again. . .there is always something to wait for. You won't be dissapointed with the TI200, you're choice. Good luck.

Unless you've got tons of money to spare, go with the G2 Ti 200. It will cost you half as much and chances are you won't be able to tell the difference (with your eyes--benchmarks will be higher onf G4). Also, remember that in many situations with the GeForce cards, that the monitor is more limiting than the card.

Are you serious? Your the one running 3 different geforce II cards which IMO have the worse quality of them all.
The geforce 3 series are much better but I love my Radeon 8500.

Radeon Quailty = Good
Radeon Drivers = $#!+

The thread name should be relabled "Is the GeForce 4 worth paying for?". It all really depends if the games you are playing feel up to speed.. no point getting a new card if its not really needed and finding out that its too slow to play those bigass games on the horizon.

Are you having any trouble with the drivers? I'm running the latest beta's and havent had any problems yet.

You must be an idiot or have a crap rig if you can't get a 8500 to look decent. No problems on my 22" Mitsubishi DiamondPro which last time I checked rivals most monitors. Much better IQ than my Gainward GF3 and faster. This is my first ATI card and I haven't had any problems with it.

Why would you pick the one thing that everybody basically agrees upon (best IQ this side of matrox), to dis ATI about?
