Is The Game Lagging Cause Of Memory Or Video Card?

Hello,

After playing Age Of Mythology for 20 minutes, and during big battles, the game
starts lagging. Eventually i have to restart my PC because the lag is so bad i
basically can't play the game.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce MX 440 With AGP8X and 256mb of RAM in
a P4 2.8GHz machine.

If i upgraded to 1 GB of memory, would that fix the lag problem? Or do
i need a better video card? Or do i need both? (I prefer to buy one or the
other if possible).

What do i need to do???

Cheers,
~Luke

If there's a lot of hard disk activity, then you probably need more ram. When you don't have enough ram the game will use virtual memory. Otherwise, I would have to guess video card. But make sure you have all the latest drivers for everything.

You will hear your hard drive turning and accessing data during the game even after level loads. As well as the HDD led light in front of your case would always be blinking if you didn't have enough RAM.

Either way, I would be looking to upgrade both of them whenever you get the chance. At least a GF4 and 512 MBs of RAM.
