Is the Epson Stylus 860 a decent printer for photos?

Is the Epson Stylus 860 a decent printer for photos? Is it one of their OLD models or is it relatively new? Thanks.

I love my 860! It's relatively new, but there is a newer version, the 870 I think, but it costs almost twice as much for only 1.something PPM faster than the 860 with no quality improvement (doesn't need any!). I highly recommend the 860.

I have both an Epson 1200 and recently an 860 (jumped on the Onvia deal $90-50rebate=$40...). It is a great printer. Doesn't quite seem to have the tonal range of 1200, but very very good output on glossy photo paper that I would consider "photoquality". The 4 picoliter droplets make for an extremely tight "grain" pattern. You can always spend more and get a bit better output, but not much better. Its very fast and the sucker is quiet.

does it fully compatible with iMac w/ OS 9.0? from their website it seems OK but since it's been lot of pain I just want known for sure before I buy a new one. thanks!

I really like my Epson 860, it has bee around for about 10 months now, and it is still very good,
there has been newer models about, like the 870 Photo printer,

if you are just going to print photos, the 870, may be a better option

Does anyone know a good site I could read reviews of printers? I need to find a photoprinter for a digital camera, one capable of accepting smart media memory. I am really looking for a dye-sublimation(sp?) printer that can print photo sized prints w/out the borders (so they are the same size & look just like pictures I would have devoped from 35mm film).

Any help would be most appreciated
