In my opinion it's safe to use. I wouldn't recommend being a cheapskate on the power supply no matter what you're building (quality first, and extra wattage doesn't hurt). :) The #1 hazard I can think of is that the AGP slot puts long video cards (Ti4600's and such) very close to the memory retainer clips, so a person must be very careful not to let the clips scrap bits off the backside of the video card.

I'd be willing to bet that most of the people that complained about the motherboard actually didn't even have motherboard problems. Since this motherboard is primarily bought for overclocking, I'd place a few bucks saying that it's their CPU (fried from overclocking) or memory that was corrupt and they didn't bother to do extensive testing. I'd say a lot of those boards that were returned were in perfect working condition. I bought 3 of them and they've been perfect.

I'd also be willing to bed, most of the posts you see are just from the negatives, because the positives just don't post anything up.. they just use it happily. but when it's bad, they post saying IT SUCKS.

I'd use one, that's for sure.

Well, I feel they are safe enough that I went and bought one right from NewEgg. Should be here Wednesday or Thursday. :)

The 8RDA+ comes with Firewire, onboard LAN, 6 channel sound, and 4 USB ports. The 8RDA comes with no Firewire, no onboard LAN, 2 channel sound, and only 2 USB ports.

I think the extra features of the 8RDA+ make the price worth it.

I'm on my way to newegg.com to order the 8RDA+ myself. I don't have the slightest fear of it. EPoX make good boards!
