Is the dishwasher supply line supposed to be under pressure?

I'm not super handy. :D

Basically, should water be in that line when the valve is open? If there isn't any water and the sink is functioning correctly, I guess that connection could get clogged?

Dishwasher supply line is always under pressure, so the dishwasher solenoid can let water into the washer when you run it. Has nothing to do with clogs.

Paranoid (or prudent) people might turn that valve off if going on a vacation for more than a few days, along with the clothes washer line, if not the entire premises water shutoff. However yours is just connected to a Tee with no (before the) shutoff so not really done correctly, unless I'm misinterpreting the pic and the white cap on the end (far right side of the assembly) is a 2nd shutoff valve for it.

Thanks! I'm not sure what the white cap is, but I'm starting to wonder if it is a shutoff valve. I don't know if you've seen anything like that before, I was thinking maybe some kind of plunger type valve?

And yeah, I think a lot of things weren't necessarily done correctly. Hindsight, etc. Bah. :D

Figure it out! Thanks, you inspired me to take a closer look. It is a plunger deal. On the end, it says to pull to close the valve.
