Is the courtesy wave dead?

I hope its not in other parts of the country, but rarely if ever do I get a courtesy wave after allowing someone in front of me in traffic in Los Angeles. Is it just that there is always traffic here so people have just stopped doing it?

I always give a courtesy thank you wave when someone lets me over.

California is one of the rudest places I have been in lately. It is right up there with Florida.

I live about 40 miles south of you (Irvine) and people give me courtesy waves all the time when I allow them in. YMMV, I guess.

More and more people here in the UK aren't waving anymore. Fvck 'em, if I see them again I'll do my best to block them off.

You mean those aren't courtesy waves?

Sometimes I get 'em, sometimes I give 'em, sometimes I want to pull out an M4 and hose down the jerkoff that just got in front of me after driving on the shoulder for a mile and not understand I wasn't letting him over until he got an edge of a bumper ahead of me and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of an minor accident report.

It all depends on the situation.

Go to Hawaii. You'll get the courtesy "shaka" for letting people get over.

If you need to get over, people will slow down so you can get in. Everywhere else, people speed up and close the gap when they see that blinker.

I'm sure you will be pleased to know that the courtesy middle finger is still alive and well here in NYC. Dunno about that wave though..
