Is the A60 small/light enough that you could comfortably carry it around in cargo pants/BDU's?

Not really, the battery compartment sticks out quite a bit and it's quite heavy too. You could get the case for it which you loop your belt through, but you'll probably feel like a dick walking around with that.

Nah. You'd want to carry it in a camera case.

At my local apple store, I wanted to see if the A80 was pocketable. So I walk over to the display model, and put it in my pocket.

Few seconds later one of the sales associates taps my shoulders, and to make a long short, I ended up in jail for the night until I could clear things up.

Why not go into the store and put it in your pocket? ;) Then find the pretties girl in the store point out the bulge in your pocket and tell her:" Hey, wana see my zoom?"

Yup, it will fit fine in your cargo pants. I have the A80, it's a tad bit on the heavy side, but not so bad. :)

A Canon S200/S230 would be a better fit.

I would NEVER carry a digicam in a pocket.

a60 is pretty big..

i have to completey empty out my purse just to fit it in w/o making a huge bulge or making it too heavy.

LJ has had it in his pocked before..so i guess it all depends on how comfortable you wanna be and how big your cargo pockets are...
