Is the Canon A40 being discontinued?

I stopped by OfficeMax today to buy some paper for my laser printer and asked if they had an A40 in stock. My sister's birthday is coming up so I was thinking I'd go in with my parents on a nice camera for her. They told me that they don't stock it anymore and that it's not being made.

Rumors=true? I was under the impression that it was their most popular camera!

Sales tax / shipping (if applicable) is a killer. $17 up from $200 after coupons for my NY @$$. :|
