I am constantly seeing TV commercials for this machine. Has anyone used one before?

I used one at a friend's house years ago. I personally prefer the solid resistance of metal weights versus the "mushy" feel of the bowflex.

I have one at home and like it a lot, best thing I have ever used. Good solid all around work out, can be compacted, don't have to worry about a spotter with up to 400 pounds of resistnace.

I'm not sure if it is a good product or not, but I wish they'd stop airing the commercial every 5 minutes.. or at least make a new one.. i'm so sick of seeing that thing

Best thing compared to what? And how much did it cost you?

I have used one and I really liked it. If I had the room I would buy one myself.

IMHO the money on a bowflex would be better spent on free weights; you can use what you saved to buy a new video card or something :)

Question for anyone who has one: now do you do squats with a bowflex?

Edit: This isn't to be taken as a vote against bowflex; i'm sure it's fine for what it does. I just prefer free weights. If you're in an apartment or something, free weights aren't really an option i spose

My Parents bought it, I think they paid around 1200 for theirs. But it is great for toning up, easier to keep up with the with free weights, doesn't weigh a ton(movement wise), and is safer. I don't think its for everyone but for quick overall workout, I haven't found anything better. This is compared to the gym we have here at school and the one I had at HS.

But no I don't have anything to do squats on mine I don't think.
