Right now I have a HUGE heat sink on it using screws, washers and springs to hold it on.. actuallly it looks cool... but it's not cool that it hogs up 2 pci slots. I was pokeing around a local store on lunch and saw they had a blue orb.. it looks even cooler in person. any way.. I rember reading on a www site that it may have problems cooling an overclocked GeForce 1 chipset.

Anyone have any links or personal input about how well a blue orb can cool a GF1.

I also saw a golden orb for the first time in person... I dosen't look as beefy as it does in pictures. Well my alpha 6035 makes almost all socket coolers look weak.

Thanks guys..

www.2cooltek.com

Try that place...I had a socket 5/7 heatsink from Radioshack that had a wimpy fan. I went to 2cooltek, and picked up their most powerful 50mm fan. It moved 19.1CFM, allowing me to go from 145, to 155.

Good stuffs, my cooler infringed on a 3rd PCI slight.

I used thermaly conductive epox to glue a S7/S370 HSF to the GPU, and glued the stock GeForce HSF to the back of the card opposite the GPU. Been running it maxed @150 on the core. Also added HS to the memory chips, running mem@190. Maybe over kill (hehe, but fun and looks cool!) but i got about 650 more 3DMarks!

How did you glue the stock hs/fan on the back? Won't it short the connectors sticking out in the back?

?? OK.. but the question was can the blue orb handle the GF? I all ready have a monster s370 heat sink on it and I know I could get a smaller one. I wanted the blue orb because it looks cool and is really small. The question is can it handel a overclocked GF?

I coulden't take it anymore so I picked one up. I'm verry happy with it. It installed with the snap pins and with my verry accurate finger test seems to cool my overclocked GF just fine. I'm still running at 145 and now one of my pci slots back. The blue orb is a really cool looking piece of hardware, it's only a shame you can't see it with the case on. It and my Alpha 6035 look like some meen cooling machines!
