is the athlon 2700+ t-bred locked or not?

i know that the barton cored cpu's are now locked, except the mobiles, but wut about the t-breds? if they are unlocked still, they would probably be hte best bang for the buck if the mobiles werent unlocked.

Every chip that AMD sells now is hard-locked, except for the mobile chips (the mobile non-Bartons aren't locked either).

Well, I know that they would like to, but that would keep them from being able to be used in laptops, their primary purpose for existence.;)

well, they could always stop selling mobile processors, but by doing that, they'd lose money. if they were to continue to sell their mobile processors, they would continue to lose money also because no one would be buying any of the desktop bartons besides the 2500+.

They aren't losing money anymore. For the first time in a long time, they are actually in the black. I'm pretty sure it's because of the A64 processors.
